Kannada Rajyotsava 2026

Kannada Rajyotsava is celebrated every year on 1 November to commemorate the formation of Karnataka. The 2026 celebration in Bagalkot is expected to include Kannada flag hoisting, cultural programmes, speeches, traditional performances and activities highlighting the history and development of Karnataka. Government departments, educational institutions, cultural organisations and community groups traditionally participate in Rajyotsava celebrations. The event provides an opportunity to recognise Kannada language, literature, art, music and cultural traditions. Bagalkot District, with its important historical heritage and contribution to Karnataka’s culture, can use the occasion to showcase local traditions and achievements. Cultural performances and public programmes can also encourage younger generations to learn about Kannada heritage. The event is scheduled for 1 November 2026, which is the recognised Karnataka Rajyotsava date.
